A delay that keeps three minutes of what you played.
Norwegian for moment. Everything you play goes into a three-minute memory before it reaches the echo. At SCAN 0 the head reads the newest sample and this is a clean delay. Turn SCAN up and the head slides back through the memory, with the echo still listening to it.
Moving the head makes it read faster or slower than real time. That is the cloudy, tape-like smear you hear. Crossfading between fixed positions would just give you a clean splice.
Reverse, filtering, gating, dropouts and more. Inside the feedback path they build up on every repeat. After it, every repeat gets the same treatment. That is all IN and OUT do.
Black ground, one monospaced font, one green ink. Every meter and readout is drawn with characters, and the middle of the panel ripples as each repeat lands.
